Landscape Architects work on projects that address critical issues shaping the world’s contemporary social, political and ecological landscapes. They seek to understand where design can be used to address landscapes affected by climate change, urbanization, environmental degradation, public access to open space, social equity, and access to resources.
At RISD, we believe you must learn to observe and analyze the environment, culture, and the built world, but also learn to use creative and intuitive practices to shape
how these forces come together. For this reason, we combine deep immersion into the knowledge
and skill base of landscape architecture with explorations into artistic and inventive practices.
